A lot of folks who read my blog are new to fitness and new to Beachbody. Many of you guys are currently on your very first round of a Beachbody program (like P90X), and therefore are focusing hard on getting great results. Obviously, concentrating on improving YOUR health and fitness should be your immediate and main goal for working out. However, I don’t want you to miss out on getting started with a great opportunity because you are so focused on the present. What I am talking about here is the opportunity to become a Team Beachbody Coach, and it’s truly an amazing opportunity if you seize it.
Don’t sell yourself short just yet! Before you decide to close this page, please read through the post. If your initial feeling is that being a Team Beachbody Coach is not for you (as was my feeling), then you definitely owe it to yourself to read this post. After all, it “wasn’t” for me either, and now I’m loving every minute of it!
Team Beachbody Coach – Benefits Of Coaching!
Before I get into a Q&A session, here are a few main reasons that I chose to become a Team Beachbody Coach.
1) INSTANT ACCOUNTABILITY! – Before I decided to coach I would begin my P90X round and end up stopping within a few weeks. The instant that I decided to try and coach I knew that there was no way I could ever be a successful coach if I were slacking off myself. This mindset, and with the built in accountability coaching brings, is one of the main reasons that I achieved such good results with P90X and Insanity Asylum.
2) HELPING OTHERS! – If you didn’t know, I am a high school teacher by profession. I truly enjoy seeing others reach their full potential, and Beachbody has provided me with another avenue in which I get to help people achieve their goals. I get so fired up when I hear the people I’m coaching tell em about how much weight they’ve lost, or how much their fitness is improving. It’s a GREAT feeling to know that you’re helping someone learn to live a healthier life!
3) FINANCIAL COMPENSATION! – First off, the compensation plan is a good one (see below in the Q&A). A lot of people do this as a full time job, and obviously I am not at that point yet as I am just starting out. I will be completely honest with you here… I am NOT making a lot of money yet, but I see the potential to do so. However, I AM making enough to cover all of my supplements each month (2 x shakeology + others) and any Beachbody programs I wish to purchase. This is REALLY nice, and it’s only taken me a few months to get to this level. I am not sure that this will ever turn into a full time gig or anything, but I AM certain that this side income will be a huge help when dealing with Ole’ Sallie Mae! Fitness is a hobby of mine, and now I get paid to do it… what could be better?
Team Beachbody Coach – Is It Right For You?
If you’re seriously considering being a Team Beachbody Coach, but are still not sure… then ask yourself the following questions.
1) Am I already purchasing Beachbody programs at full price? If so, then you would automatically save money (25% – see below) on any Beachbody programs you purchase. This means that you will come out ahead (money-wise) even if you never coached a single soul.
2) If you’re already a little ways into your fitness routine, do you have people asking you about how you’re going about losing the weight? If you find yourself answering questions to co-workers, family, etc about the Beachbody programs then you’re probably doing something right! As a coach one of your main jobs is to answer questions about the different programs, so if you’re already doing this then you might as well get paid for it, right?
3) Are you passionate about the Beachbody programs? If you’re like me and have achieved good results on a Beachbody program, then you’re probably passionate about it and don’t mind sharing your success with others. If you believe in, and regularly use, the Beachbody programs because they have worked for you then you’re already being a product of the product. Why not turn your belief in the program into some financial gain? You have nothing to lose here…
For me personally, I WISH that I had signed up the first time I had attempted P90X. I would have gotten into shape A LOT sooner, and there’s no telling where I would be financially right now. I can see this thing growing, and to know that I put it off for a few years irks me! Plus, I would have saved A LOT of cash on the P90X, and P90X Plus programs that I paid full price for. I honestly have no idea why I waited so long to start coaching, and all I can say to you is that if this remotely interests you..then DON’T wait! Bottom line is this – you help people, you make a side income, you stay fit, and you have A LOT of fun doing it. To me, this has truly been a blessing!

Here is my ONE warning about becoming a Team Beachbody Coach. If you are someone who is looking to get into the team Beachbody coach business to make some fast cash, then you WON’T succeed here, so please do not sign up. Even though you may have some initial success, people aren’t stupid and they know when someone is just trying to sell them something. One of the great things about this business is that you don’t have to sell anything! All you do is share with others what has worked for you, and answer questions to those folks who have them. So again, if you’re looking to earn some quick cash, this thing isn’t for you.

That includes your first month’s Business Services Fees and your Coach Business Kit, which comes with everything you need to begin earning income. After this, it will costs you 15.95 a month. This is to pay for maintenance on your back office. The back office is basically your online office where you can see all of the stats and information about your business. This may sound “fishy” to have to pay a fee each month, but once you start getting a TON of customers you will be thankful that you have this resource to help you keep track of orders, emails, etc. I am personally more than happy to pay the $16 bucks each month to NOT have to keep up with all of that info on my own.
Q: How much time do I have to dedicate in order to be a Team Beachbody Coach?
A: This is entirely up to you! You can sign up to coach simply for the discount benefit and no further action is necessary. However, if you choose to REALLY COACH and help others…then the amount of time you need to put into your business is again… up to you. There is literally no set time on anything. Obviously though, the more you put into this…the more you get out! There are lots of people who make earn a full-time income doing Beachbody coaching, and they definitely did the work to get there. This is far from a get rich quick scheme…but you can definitely earn good supplemental income on the side from coaching.
Q: Do I need to be a fitness expert to be a Team Beachbody Coach?
A: Definitely NOT!!! In this business, your goal is to be a “PRODUCT of the PRODUCT.” Get it? All you do is successfully use the Beachbody programs and share that success with others. Often times, what works or did work for you is what people want to know about. It’s simple really! So, no you don’t need to be a fitness or weight-loss expert to become a Beachbody Coach. You just need to be ready to commit to changing your life.
Q: What kinds of help and support will I receive if I decide to be a Team Beachbody Coach?
Beachbody provides what is called the “Coach Training Academy”, which is a series of online courses that outline everything you need to do to get your business up and running. Literally everything you need to know is right at your finger tips, you just have to be willing to take advantage of it. In addition to the Coach Training Academy, Beachbody has established a Team Beachbody Coach Relations team. This is basically a resource center that is available to answer your questions via email or over the phone, and they’re open 24/7.
Finally, and most importantly, you will get knowledge and support from the coach and team who sponsored you. Now, what I’m going to tell you in the next few sentences isn’t to hype the business. This is my honest input and opinion on this part of the opportunity.
In this business, in order to succeed you MUST help others succeed! This concept has been HUGE for me. If there is anything that you take seriously in this paragraph then it MUST be this, don’t just join any team! Do some research…see if the team you’re thinking about joining has additional trainings, and see who the leaders are on that team. You can make things a lot more difficult on yourself by joining the wrong team, so do your research! I was “lucky” enough to join up under the number one coach in the company for 2011 (Wayne Wyatt), and his coach was the number one coach in the company for 2010 (Josh Spencer). The group I got involved with knows exactly what it takes to be successful, and I am glad that I have the opportunity to learn from these guys. Had I just joined any Beachbody team, I would have likely missed out on a lot of additional training and information that I have received from this group.
A couple of the key things provided by this group, and not via Beachbody, are a private training page just for our team members, and an exclusive FB coaches group. The training website goes over everything from how to market your Shakeology business, to setting up your own blog site (similar to the one I have). It also includes numerous pre-recorded team training calls that you can go back and listen to. The transition into the business would have been a lot more difficult without this tool. Probably the largest benefit of this team is that I am plugged into a Facebook group with about 2000 other coaches. This is absolutely wonderful, because if I do not know the answer to a question someone asks me then I simply post my question in the coach group on Facebook. Chances are, someone else has had the same question. This saves me a TON of time on the phone with coach relations! Again, I’m not trying to hype the business, but you must make sure to do your research if you do decide to coach. The team you choose can make or break your Beachbody business!
Q: How does a Team Beachbody Coach make money?
As a coach you earn money in two ways. First, you make a 25% commission off every product bought through you. Some coaches earn a full time living doing just sales. One P90X or one Shakeology order will earn you around $30 bucks a pop. Doesn’t sound like a whole lot but consider this, if a customer buys Shakeology through you on what’s called Home Direct then you will receive that $30 commission each month they continue using Shakeology. This is a great way to build residual income that grows and grows!
The second way to earn income as a Team Beachbody Coach is to build up a team of coaches. You will then earn a commission off the sales volume that your team does. This is the way that some coaches have earned over $1 million a year. Not me though…I’m not even close, lol.
Q: Does a Team Beachbody Coach have to purchase products for re-sale?
A: You can if you wish – but NO, you don’t have to and I personally don’t purchase any extra products to sell. Unlike marketing programs that require you to buy a lot of products in order to participate, the the Team Beachbody Coach opportunity has no inventory requirements. If you do want to purchase products for your own use or resale, you’ll get them at a significant discount.
Q: Does a Team Beachbody Coach handle inventory, shipping, or customer service?
A: Nope! When customers purchase products through your website, Beachbody takes care of the rest.
Q: Is it easy to set up my website?
A: Beachbody actually gives you 3 free websites whenever you sign up to coach. You can check out the links to mine below. I chose to set up my own blog site simply because I wanted something different. This is absolutely NOT necessary, and most coaches use the sites provided to them via Beachbody. However, if you DO choose to set up your own blog site then you will have the instructions provided for you (as I mentioned above) if you join our team. I’m honestly not sure if other teams provide this type of benefit or not, but I know ours does!

Q: How does Beachbody promote its products?
A: They spend millions of dollars every week advertising our home fitness programs on the major TV stations and cable networks. (You’ve probably seen our famous infomercials for programs such as P90X, Turbo Jam, and Hip Hop Abs, as well as our magazine and Internet ads.) Millions of people already know about Beachbody, and every time we run an infomercial, we get thousands of new customers. Beachbody wants those customers to shop through your store, so you get the commission on those sales! One REALLY cool thing about being a Team Beachbody Coach is that these customers will be placed under you when they purchase offline, or off an infomercial. That’s nice once a person is on your customer list you will receive the 25% commission for anything they purchase afterward, even if you had never spoken to them! What other company helps their ’employees’ grow like this?
